(The Original Ribbon Drape Remnants are present and included for both of these medals.)  Overall condition of medals is good with some typical and obvious signs of aging.

WWII 1st Division Medal and Document Set:  Period Framed Bronze Star Citation Document and Photograph for Pfc. Michele Rota Jr., HQ Battery 7th Field Artillery Battalion, 1st Infantry Division.  This unit saw heavy action, and was supporting the 16th Infantry Regiment (1st Wave) on the D-Day landings.  The Bronze Star was issued for actions on Sicily from July 10, 1943 to August 1, 1943.  He was wounded in those actions, and after medical leave returned to the 16th Armored apparently as an Artilleryman and promoted to Corporal.  This is not unusual, as many soldiers were re-assigned to other units after extended leaves.  The Citation is an Original Official copy issued in Dec. 1944, G.O. 149, HQ 1st Inf. Div.  The Original Photograph was taken and produced by a London studio.  The set includes a period Purple Heart & Cased Bronze Star Decorations.  Overall condition is excellent with typical signs of age, wear, and soiling.  Citation Document has some minor staining and darkening from age, but solid and nicely presentable.  Currently in research to verify image to recipient accuracy. (Pending Research)
