Outstanding Rim Engraved Navy Civil War Campaign Medal to Officer: All Original 1st Issue BB&B Strike, nice original drape with slight fraying at brooch, and only touches of wear to high points, and open-hook split brooch. Nicely Script Engraved on the rim to: "Acting Ensign Robert Henderson, U.S. Str. J.P. Jackson W.G.B.S." (West Gulf Blockading Squadron), in the Officially prescribed format. This medal was issued in 1909 to Robert Henderson who served as an Officer during the Civil War with the Union Navy between 1863 and 1865. He served on Three ships during the CW, and later on numerous Revenue Cutters (Predecessor to the U.S. Coast Guard). Officially impressed number "217", that is verified in the research. Includes National Archives Research; Pension File, Service Record, Medal Award Letter. Army Civil War Campaign Medal: A subsequent strike of the Army Civil War Campaign Medal, Numbered "MNo.5802", with original Full Wrap Brooch specific to this contract on the original second style drape. Nice patina, with some dings to the obverse planchet, and soiling to the ribbon, but a solid early example of this medal. (SOLD) Sampson Medal to U.S.S. Harvard: Very Nice Phase II Officially Impressed "CARL MICHAELIS, F.1st.C." to a Fireman 1st Class. Michaelis enlisted on June 22, 1898 out of Newport News R.I., and was 35 years old at that time. He is confirmed on the Roll of the USS Harvard, the medal is 100% Original, and in Excellent condition with only minor signs of age and wear. Original Navy West Indies Campaign Medal: A first strike of the Rare Navy "West Indies" Campaign Medal, Numbered "3914", with original Open Hook Split Wrap Brooch and what appears to be either the original or an early replacement ribbon with the official second style drape. Beautiful patina, and very solid medal all-around. U.S. Navy "3-Ring" Spanish Campaign Medal: Original Bastion Brothers Contract in MINT Condition, with all original components. Spanish American War service medal with distinctive Split Wrap Brooch having the "Tiffany" Style Catch, and 3-Ring suspension. U.S. Army Spanish Campaign Medal: Original Early "M.No. 63" numbered medal, with all original components. 2nd Style Original is frayed but complete condition. Spanish American War service medal with distinctive Open Hook Wrap Brooch and nicely aged patina with minimal wear to planchet. Uncommon strike to find, and a nice 2nd variation production. (SOLD) U.S. Army Spanish War Service Medal: Plain "12160" numbered medal, with original planchet and replaced ribbon and brooch. Typically issued to Non-Regular Army or National Guard units for service in the Spanish American War. This United States Federal campaign medal was issued February 21, 1922 to Patrick J. Hogan for service as a Private, Company I, 4th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry. U.S. Army Cuban Occupation Medal: All Original Medal, issued February 3, 1916 to James J. Grant, Sergeant 1st Class, Hospital Corps, 29th Infantry, Camp Gaillard, Canal Zone for service in Cuba as Corporal, 8th Infantry. Officially numbered "No.2010" and a 1st Strike of this Early U.S. Army Campaign Medal. Excellent overall condition with a nicely aged patina, with wear to the drape, but solid. Includes notes from an early Gleim Auction listing verifying attribution. U.S. Army Philippine Insurrection Medal: All Original Medal, issued in 1909 to Private Frank Goss, 70th Company, Coast Artillery Corps. Officially numbered "No.17298" and a 1st Strike of this Early U.S. Army Campaign Medal. Excellent overall condition with a nicely aged patina, and only minor wear to the highpoints of drape. Includes Research verifying attribution. (SOLD) Boxed 1908 U.S. Navy Cuban Pacification: Original Bailey, Banks, and Biddle contract, in MINT Condition, with all original components. Early Open-Hook Split Brooch, with numbered "2393" planchet. This came out of a recently discovered collection of early medals, never touched, and IS an original 1st Strike. This comes in an original period contract box with number "2393", matched to this specific medal, complete with original tissue wrap. A very hard to find Federal Naval Campaign Medal and Box, and as nice as you will ever find. Medal U.S. Army Cuban Pacification: All Original Medal, issued June 26, 1909 to Private Conrad Ruhr, Company F, 28th Infantry, for Cuban service in the same unit. Officially numbered "No.1353" and a 1st Strike of this Early U.S. Army Campaign Medal. Ruhr enlisted at Jefferson Barracks March 6, 1908 and at 5 feet 3-1/2 inches required a waiver of one half inch of the minimum height requirement. He received an early discharge at Fort Snelling on August 16, 1909. Excellent overall condition with a nicely aged patina, with typical wear and separation to the central stripe of drape, but solid. (The dyes used in this ribbon always seem to produce the same result...) Includes notes from an early Gleim Auction listing verifying attribution. 1912 U.S. Navy 1st Nicaragua Campaign: Original Bailey, Banks, and Biddle contract, in Very Good Condition, with replaced ribbon and brooch. Original numbered "534" planchet. A RARE Federal Naval Campaign Medal. (SOLD) 1911-1917 U.S.M.C. Mexican Service: Original Bailey, Banks, and Biddle contract, in Solid Condition, with all original components. Early Open-Hook Split Brooch, with numbered "2343" planchet. Wear to high point of drape, but perfectly clean planchet with a great original patina. A harder to find Federal United States Marine Corps Campaign Medal. Rare Boxed M.No. U.S.N. 1911-1917 Mexican Service: 100% Original in Near-Mint Condition, complete with all original components. Rotating Catch Full Wrap Brooch, numbered "M.No.15571" on bottom edge of planchet. Original Card Box with old marked matching number on lid, including original open-hook ribbon bar. Near-Perfect example of a hard to find contract variation of this medal, with only minor signs of age and storage wear. Boxed 1915 U.S. Navy Haitian: Original Bailey, Banks, and Biddle contract, in MINT Condition, with all original components. Early Open-Hook Split Brooch, with numbered "830" planchet. This came out of a recently discovered collection of early medals, never touched, and IS an original 1st Strike. This comes in an original period contract box with number "129", but mismatched to this specific medal, complete with original tissue wrap. Correct and Distinct Full-Wrap Brooch, with numbered "2977" planchet. A very hard to find Federal United States Marine Corps Campaign Medal, and as nice as you will find. 1916 Navy Dominican Campaign: Original contract, in Excellent Condition, with all original components, and only a hint of wear to drape. Correct Full-Wrap Brooch, with numbered "1995" planchet. A very hard to find Federal United States USN Campaign Medal. "1919-1920" Bar for Navy/USMC 1915 Haitian Campaign 1919-1920 U.S.M.C. Haitian Campaign: Original Whitehead & Hoag contract, with Hallmarked Brooch, in Near-MINT Condition, with all original components. Correctly marked Full-Wrap Brooch, with numbered "3127" planchet, at 5 o'clock position. A very hard to find Federal United States Marine Corps Campaign Medal, and as nice as you will find. WWI U.S. Army/USMC 2nd Division 5-Bar Victory Medal: Original issue, " Aisne / Aisne-Marne / St. Mihiel / Meuse-Argonne / Defensive Sector " Bar arrangement generally attributed to the 2nd Division A.E.F., and probably the most famous combat division in WWI for the United States. Ribbon is solid, with typical signs of age and wear to high points. Bars and Planchet have a consistent aging and patina, showing clear signs of being original to this medal. Great Period Example. (SOLD) WWI U.S. Army 4th Division 4-Bar Victory Medal: Original issue, "Aisne-Marne / St. Mihiel / Meuse-Argonne / Defensive Sector" Bar arrangement typically attributed to the A.E.F. 4th Division in WWI for the United States. Medal is Complete and all Original. Ribbon is very solid, with only slight soiling. Bars and Planchet are clean, having a similar aging and patina, consistent with other signs of being original to this medal. (SOLD) WWI U.S. Army 3-Bar VICTORY MEDAL: Original issue, "St. Mihiel / Meuse-Argonne / Defensive Sector" Bar arrangement typically attributed to five of the A.E.F. combat divisions in WWI for the United States. (35th, 78th, 82nd, 89th, 90th) Ribbon is solid, showing some signs of wear and age, with a minor split in drape under the brooch on the reverse side. Bars and Planchet are clean, having a similar aging and patina, consistent with other signs of being original to this medal. (SOLD) WWI U.S. Army Victory Medal with "ITALY" Bar: Original issue medal and bar, with all original components. VF+ condition overall, with minor wear to highpoints of drape and light oxidation to the planchet. A very solid period example. WWI U.S. Navy Victory Medal, with "MINE LAYING" Bar: Original issue medal and bar, Excellent condition example with only minor signs of wear and age. WWI U.S. Navy Victory Medal, with "MINE SWEEPING" Bar: Original issue medal and bar, Solid condition with some obvious signs of wear and age, but the real deal. Gleim Type FII Bar. WWI Boxed U.S. Army Victory Medal: Original issue, "FRANCE" Bar United States Army World War One Victory Medal in Original Box of Issue. Card Box from S.G. Adams Stamp and Stationery Company, out of St. Louis Missouri. This was the 1st Contract Dated March 30, 1920 and was one of the three original manufacturers of the U.S. Victory Medal. Includes a period Screw post Enameled Discharge Lapel Button, titled "Honorably Discharged/World War". All items are in MINT Condition with only typical wear to the box. (SOLD) Misc. Original Army & Navy WWI Victory Medal Bars U.S.M.C. Expeditionary Medal: Original contract, in VF Condition, with all original components. Drape is separating at the brooch, but complete and otherwise sound. Medal has typical signs of age and use. Correct Split-Wrap Brooch, with numbered "M.No.2120" planchet. A very popular medal, and getting much harder to find. (SOLD) U.S.M.C. 2nd Nicaraguan: Original contract, in Excellent Condition, with all original components.
