Exceptionally RARE Collection of WW2 German Chaplain InsigniaThis is an absolutely beautiful group of Original Insignia, with Original packaging, tags, and labels. Never worn and in pristine condition... First
Model Chaplain Tabs with proper wreath and probe tag with wrapper. First
type tabs worn by Kreigsmarine Chaplains (both faiths) until around 1942.
Most Kriegsmarine Chaplains resisted wearing these, and wanted to stay with the
WWI type frock coat, hence the great rarity. You will see 10 sets of
Original SS Generals tabs for one set of these... Second
Type Navy Collar Tabs (Post ‘42) "Fat Wreath" with cellophane
wrapper. These
are the 2nd Type Tabs. They replaced the cross with a gothic version, and the
laurel leaves with Ivy. That is the original wrapping to them. The
tabs are worn, but never sewn on a uniform. Unknown
Early 2nd Model Prototype Tab -- never used -- probe tagged. This
appears to be a prototype tab. This tab was never issued to German Chaplains
that we know of, yet it has the hallmarks of the 2nd Type and 1st
Type Tabs. It was most likely a
go-between yet not issued. Second
Type Navy Wreath with cross in silver rather then metal -- probe tagged/with
wrapper. This
is the style of wreath that is common on Navy hats in photos. It is the Type,
with the cross correctly outside the wreath, vs. the cross inside which is more
commonly faked.
